Grand Masti Review – More of the same

After Masti (2004) comes the sequel Grand Masti. It is about three blokes who are not happy with their married life. There is a grand college reunion and they have a chance to enjoy and get away from their humdrum existence. However, their college reunion is fraught with trouble. And just when they think that things are getting better, they take a turn for the worse.

Let us not beat about the bush. This is an adult comedy. If one likes such movies then one will enjoy Grand Masti. If not, keep away. There is a lot of double meaning jokes and there are girls in large number in short dresses.

The movie consistently maintains a funny tone. The dialogues are spicy and saucy. The numbers will have your feet tapping. The chemistry between the three main protagonists is good. At no point does the movie drag. It is well-paced.

Aimed at the youth, the movie will surely attract the younger moviegoers in large numbers. As there is a lot of skin show, it will not find takers in mature audiences.

As with most sequels, this too isn’t as good as the first movie. There was less of skin show in Masti and it was funnier than Grand Masti. Masti had Ajay Devgn to add to the star quotient. His fans are sure to miss him in this sequel. Out of the three main stars in this movie, Ritesh Deshmukh is the funniest although, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani do not lag behind much as far as the expressions and dialogue delivery goes.

Many viewers may not find the movie very appealing the first time though they may enjoy the same when watched again. The supporting cast is quite hilarious too. One will enjoy all the antics that one will come across aplenty in this movie.

The movie will not disappoint you if you do not go with very high expectations to the theatre. However, if you are looking out for a classy comedy, then this is not going to suit your palette. Watch Grand Masti if you are interested in watching some fun-filled adult comedy.
